Trevor Noah files a lawsuit against doctor over ‘serious personal injury’

Things have gotten very serious, very quickly for South African TV personality and comedian Trevor Noah as he has recently sued a doctor who messed up a medical procedure.

Noah’s lawyer Justin Blitz filed a lawsuit on 29 November against the star’s orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Riley Williams III, as well as the hospital where the procedure took place, which states that the comedian suffered some “serious personal injury” which appears to be “permanent, severe and grievous”.

The lawsuit also claims that Williams III failed to inform the TV personality of the risks associated with the surgery, as well as prescribe the necessary medication that Trevor needed post-surgery.

The lawsuit reads as follows: “A reasonably prudent person in the position of the plaintiff would have refused the treatment rendered, had they been so informed of the risks, hazards, and alternatives to the treatment rendered.”

Trevor has allegedly been left sick, sore and disabled from the medical procedure, and his lawyers said they would not comment further on the matter.
