The deal includes the release and distribution of his music to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia as well as the Benelux region. Ultra Records has produced a string of recent international hits including the likes of Omi “Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)”, Kygo Stole The Show & Deorro x Chris Brown Five More Hours.
“I am excited beyond words with the deal we have just signed and I can’t wait for the world to hear the music,” Tresor said in a statement. “As an African artist I’ve always believed that we make world class music right here at home and I am looking forward to this new global adventure potentially opening new doors for African musicians. I believe the world needs our sound now more than ever before.”
Earlier this month, Tresor released his debut album, VII. The album – which he has worked on for the past seven years and features collaborations with AKA, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana and The Soil – opened at #2 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart in South Africa, to overwhelmingly positive reactions from fans and critics alike.
Tresor’s Mount Everest (Freddy Verano Remix) music video, a #1 dance airplay hit in Italy and a song that reached #1 on the Global Shazam trending list, is approaching 800 000 views online.
