Tlale celebrates successful decade
South African fashion designer David Tlale is this year celebrating a decade as a successful designer in the tough and gruelling world of fashion. To mark this milestone in his career, Tlale is hosting a swanky black tie affair at the Tshwane City hall on 30 October.

Tlale had his big break as a still relatively unknown designer back in 2002, when he landed a place as a semi-finalist in Elle New Talent Show Competition before two months later being named Best Designer by the Sunday Times.
With these accolades behind his name, Tlale set off on his path to greatness and officially established a design studio in his home in May 2003.
Ten years down the line, Tlale has gone from strength to strength, and in September last year made history as the first South African designer to land a standalone slot to showcase under his own name at The Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.
Born and raised in Vosloorus in Boksburg, the flamboyant designer in an interview with website Youth Village said he would love to dress or design for both Lenny Kravitz and USA first lady Michelle Obama.
