The duckface pout is a major no-no, but slightly pursing your lips into a subtle pout will make your selfies look cool. Just asks Bonang Matheba, who is queen of the subtle pout.

The who-took-this-selfie selfie – Pearl Thusi

Lighting is everthing – Azania Mosaka

Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of good lighting. It can make or break even the best of selfies. Some celebrities even use good lighting as an excuse to take more selfies.

“When the lighting and make-up is on point you take a selfie,” TV and radio personality Azania captioned this selfie.
