Thando Thabethe is not a happy camper today. This is because of the dozens of men who took it upon themselves to tell her how to dress this week.
Let’s backtrack a little; if you’ve been following Thando over the last 12 months, you’ll know that she’s been putting in a lot of work to develop and push a lingerie line called Thabooty’s.
The lingerie line promises to have items for women of all shapes and sizes and it’s been seen as a modern, body-positive brand. Of course, being the founder of the brand, Thando has been promoting the lingerie items and posing in her own pieces (because why not?), and this is where people took exception.
Many Twitter users took to the platform to accuse her of dressing skimpily and asked her to “put some clothes on”.
Here’s the picture she posted:
And then the responses started flooding in:
Thando is usually friendly and fun on social media, but these requests really upset her and she hit back at the critics.
“I’m so annoyed at how men on this platform feel they can police how women should conduct themselves! Don’t post this, you’re engaged. Don’t you miss your natural hair? Keep your natural hair … SIYEKENI [Leave us alone]”.
Do you think that Thando Thabethe’s complaint against men is valid?
