Tbo Touch has been highly criticised on social media following a series of tweets in which he sought to shed some light on self hate. Tbo Touch said black people had reached a point of self hate where they could not trust each other even with the smallest things. It was the missionaries who came to Africa and brainwashed black people with religion, he claimed.

“My best friend Sihle, 26-year-old medical doctor, told me how we don’t trust young black doctors as a result he had to shut his practice!”

He said people were spending money on expensive medical aids instead of trusting the wisdom of our own traditional herbalists.

“We’ve put too much trusts in expensive Pharmaceuticals and expensive medical aids and you wonder how our great grand mothers and fathers lived such long fulfilled lives without diseases and sickness. Nature always has a cure!”

Tbo Touch said as a victim of colonisation, he has found himself questioning qualifications and the experience of a black pilot.

“When I board a flight and hear a voice of a Black Pilot, tjerrrr . I want to know where he graduated, how many years he has flown, is he sober or not going through a divorce. Does he owe anyone money or has ever been to rehab. These are all the fruits of colonisation. Self hate is real in our communities. End of discussion! But good will always thrive over evil. That’s sermon for today,” he said.

He later deleted the tweet and has been trending since.

Social media users were not impressed with Tbo Touch and told him to just admit to his prejudice without including colonisation.

Dumi Gwebu wrote: “Don’t hide your prejudices behind colonialism wena nje on your own you don’t think black pilots are good enough. Me I’m the other way around. I smile when I hear it’s a black pilot. Because this person made it against all odds,” while Samu said: “Other kids that were colonised with you celebrate the representation and appreciate how hard it must have been to get there. They begin to dream anew but carry on.”

However, there also those who defended him and said he was being honest about something most people would lie about.
