Tbo Touch offers to hire ‘brave’ MiWay employee

The company has denied that a decision to 'punish these baboons' was ever made, saying the email was not sent by one of their employees.

Thabo ‘Tbo Touch’ Molefe has again found himself on the wrong side of Twitter after offering to hire the MiWay employee should they get fired for an alleged email they leaked on Thursday.

The alleged email reminds employees about a managers’ meeting regarding an apparent decision to reject claims made by black people as of next month.

“They are an easy target, it’s also a great opportunity to save money and punish these black baboons,” it reads.

The alleged email landed the insurance on to the trends list on Twitter, with most saying they would cancel their contract with the company.

Following the backlash, Tbo Touch has taken to social media to offer to hire the staff member who leaked the alleged email if they get fired for it.

“Whoever leaked this Miway I salute for your bravery. Should you be fired Touch HD will hire,” Tbo Touch wrote on Twitter.

However, Twitter is still having none of it, saying they have not forgotten about his tweet on Tuesday in which he compared himself to a beggar.

“The only difference between the guy I just drove pass begging in streets and myself is our mental disposition. Let’s change how we think,” said Touch, receiving backlash from his followers, who said he was “out of touch with reality”.

These were some of the reactions:

“No Chief we still waiting for an apology from don’t derail us, we still on that ‘mind disposition’ tip!”

“We didn’t forget about you and what you tweeted yesterday.”

“Can we fight my way together, we will sort our brother out at another family gathering. But now the enemy is Miway.”

“Wena ungaze ucabange ukuthi we forgot about you. As far as I’m concerned, you and miwayinsurance are in the same WhatsApp group.”

MiWay CEO Rene Otto has since denied that the company made such a decision and said the email was fake.

“MiWay is a proudly South African company committed to diversity and transparency. We have been made aware of a racist email purported to have been written and sent by a member of staff.

“An urgent investigation was launched and we can confirm that the email with its content was never sent from a MiWay employee.

“There was also no such meeting that took place or decision to this effect.  We are tracing the source of this fake content on social media and will take strong and appropriate action against anyone using our brand to disseminate offensive and derogatory comments,” MiWay said in a statement.
