Sphectacula and DJ Naves are making waves with amapiano

Sphe Ngwenya, who is known as Sphectacula, and DJ Naves are creating a new wave in the house music scene.

They have a new amapiano single track out called Ngeke.

The Kings of the Weekend, as they are known, said that doing amapiano has been the greatest thing for them.

They’ve been working together for almost 10 years now and both described their friendship as a blessing.

Amapiano is a mix of deep house and gqom mixed with jazzy and soulful piano. Basically, it’s a much-upgraded version of deep house music.

But there is a new trend in the amapiano culture that has a lot of people worried about the future of the subgenre.

Some are adding lyrics and others are wondering whether this way of attracting attention to their tracks is pushing people away from or closer to the music.

House music enthusiasts are starting to turn to the purer house subgenre that needs no gimmicks.

“Our support base understands that we produce for various music genres and we keep making people happy everywhere we go and we will continue making the music we like,” Ngwenya says.

Amapiano is the “in thing” in the music industry in South Africa. It’s the genre of music that gets played most and is going mainstream.

The duo worked with Leehleza, Beast and Hope on the new single that came out in July.

“It has been a blessing working with them as we’ve worked with them before.

“We’ve worked with Hope for two years now and she has fitted perfectly into the scene. We met Lihleza and Beast through Dj Maphorisa and they are the coolest people to work with,” Sphectacula said.

The commanding voice of Leehleza brings a sense of confirmation that this track will be a street banger and should be played at top volume.
