Sonia Mbele says she is traumatised after being attacked at a restaurant

“I am completely traumatised and shocked by such evil."

Actress and producer Sonia Mbele says she is not okay after she was allegedly attacked at a popular restaurant in Johannesburg.

The Real Housewives Of Johannesburg (RHOJ) producer took to Instagram to open up about the ordeal, saying she was left traumatised.

“I am completely traumatised and shocked by such evil. My producer friends and I walked away peacefully, but that was not enough. Being bullied at a restaurant was not cool,” she wrote under Maphepha Ndaba’s comments section.

According to the Instagram blog, a woman who allegedly attacked Sonia was asked to be on the latest season of RHOJ, but Sonia turned her down after finding out that she was younger than 25.

Sonia Mbele pays an admission of guilt

Recently, Sonia finally appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court after missing her court appearance twice.

“The court has granted the last opportunity to Ms Mbele to attend the proceedings, in that it marked the postponement as final, following her submission of a medical certificate for the second time where she could not attend court, citing ill-health,” National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said.

The TV star and her Real Housewives of South Africa (Pty) Ltd business partners, Yolisa Gqunta and Rebone Sesing, faced 41 counts of contravening the Tax Administration Act. The trio failed to file the company income tax returns from 2019 to 2022, Value Added Tax (VAT) returns from 2020 to 2022, and their Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) from 2020 to 2022.

On Friday, 20 October, they appeared in court, admitted guilt and paid R41,000 or R1,000 for each count.

“I, The Real Housewives of South Africa(Pty) with Reg No: 2017/413908/07, hereby admit guilt to the charges specified in Counts 1 to 41, as mentioned in the attached charge sheet, and tender the admission of guilt fine referred to in the charge sheet,” read the court papers as quoted by IOL.
