Somizi on Mohale: ‘He’s no longer alive’ to me

The Braai Show with Cass had a big guest on Wednesday evening, the man of every moment, Somizi Mhlongo.

Hosted by Cassper Nyovest, the rapper invites guests over for a braai and the popular figures on the show discuss their personal and business lives while assisting him in the kitchen – a format that’s very similar to Dinner at Somizi’s.

During his appearance, Somizi didn’t hold anything back during his conversation with Cassper, as they also discussed his pending divorce from Mohale Motaung.

When Cassper asked him about his ex, Somizi replied: ” Oh he’s gone. He’s no longer alive.” Clearly shocked, Cassper said: “Are you serious?”

Somizi joked: “He’s departed from this earth.” Cassper pressed on and said we are all wondering when the relationship ended because of how public their relationship was.

Somizi did defend Mohale after Cassper said he pulled off an “Italian job”, suggesting he used him for fame and to build his career.

The discussion throughout the episode also touched on Somizi’s daughter, Bahumi Madisakwane, having a privileged life and using his platform to grow her career. Bahumi has got acting jobs on M-Net’s Reyka and the famous father says this isn’t a bad thing, as he made a comparison to the Motsepe family.

“Their father worked hard for them to have it easy. Your child can’t go through what you went through. There is no way.”

Cassper responded: “I am raising a rich kid and I am not ashamed of that.”

When asked if he wanted more kids, Somizi says he would “never” want more kids because he doesn’t have the time or patience but is open to adopting.

Over the years, Somizi’s sexuality has been of much interest and the media personality says he has never been in the closet and has always been himself.

“Even the baby mama knows that when she told me she liked me, I told her I was gay. She said I was lying and she tested me. I decided to go for it and that’s how it happened.

“I was transparent from the onset. I hate always explaining myself. I am not gay, I am a pansexual, I am attracted to whoever I’m attracted to at the time. So even if I meet a beautiful woman now, I’d date her.”

Onto his media interests and his famous choreography at the 2010 World Cup opening, Somizi says he’s done with this career as he gets older. Other business ventures such as his new Bantu kids sneakers collection is coming soon.
