In the letter, he lashes at the “educated black” for looking down on him because of “my not so refined accent or average English vocab”. Mhlongo joined this season of Idols SA and as a judge, he has to make remarks about the contestants’ performances. He has not spared any of them his mind, being the most vocal of the four. In some of the comments, he has failed to express himself, either because the performance was brilliant or bad.
Some people have taken to social media to criticise and laugh at his English, with some suggesting he gets his own dictionary. This did not sit well with Somizi, who said the “educated black” should not think they are mightier than him because of his English. In the letter, he says those who ‘twang’ sound like parrots to white people.
