Sofia Vergara: I wouldn’t care if my acting career ended

Sofia Vergara wouldn't mind if her acting career was swiped away her because she's been building businesses for when the roles begin to dry up.

Sofia Vergara wouldn’t mind if her acting career came to an end.

The ‘Modern Family’ star is the highest-paid actress on TV after earning a reported $30 million annually, but she admits she probably won’t want to be in front of the camera in ”five or 10 years” and would rather be at home so she has set about building businesses to work with in the future.

Speaking to the USA Today newspaper, she said: ”I always wanted to do a make-up line and now I have CoverGirl. I wanted to a clothing line because people are always asking me what I’m wearing … In five or 10 years, I don’t have to be there working I can do it from my house…

”I never went to acting school. I never thought I’d be an actress. If the acting went away, it wouldn’t be as bad for me.” Sofia who has 22-year-old son Manolo with her ex-husband Joe Gonzalez is considering trying for a baby with her fiancé Nick Loeb.

The Columbian beauty has frozen some of her eggs to increase her chances of having a child because she acknowledges it will be ”hard work” to conceive at her age. Sofia – who hasn’t ruled out using a surrogate mother explained: ”I thought I was done because my son is 22 and I am 41. My fiancé is younger than me by three years and he doesn’t have kids. So it’s always an option.”

The star – who previously beat thyroid cancer added: ”At 41I know what all that means … You never know at this age. It can go bad very easy. We’ll wait and see what happens when we have time. I had cancer 10 years ago and I had a lot of radiation and that changed me. That’s why the doctor said it’s better now.”
