Skolopad vows to ditch nudity in 2018

Nonhlanhla ‘Skolopad’ Qwabe says she is seriously considering leaving nudity behind in 2017.

The dancer and singer, who is well-known for wearing risqué outfits on the red-carpet, wants to reinvent herself and change the way people see her.

Skolopad says she was inspired after her social media followers reacted positively to pictures she posted of herself “covered-up”.

She is now considering launching a social media campaign to see if her fans want to see less skin from her in the new year, of if she should continue wearing skimpy outfits.

Skolopad’s red-carpet looks often result in her trending on Twitter, and it seems the crazier the outfit the better.

She wore a see-through ‘meat dress’ to the 2017 Feather Awards earlier this month that left little to the imagination.

Her dress designer covered her private parts with pieces of raw boerewors. Skolopad topped off the look by carrying a charcoal bag!

Her crazy behaviour earned her a mention on the trending Twitter hashtag, #10ThingsToBeLeftBehindIn2017.

Skolopad is now considering taking a different approach to the way she presents herself in future.

“People saw pictures of me in normal clothes the other day and went crazy, but they forgot that I always said I am three in one. Nonhlanhla and Skolopad are different. But I now have a great team of people trying out new things with me and I get a couple of thousands retweets when I ask if I should leave ‘nudity’ in 2017, then I might think about it,” she told TshisaLive.

But that doesn’t mean we will be saying goodbye to the fun-loving Skolopad we have come to know.

She says she won’t compromise her identity, but is up for making some changes.

“I love who I have become to some women.  A symbol of a free woman who embraces her body,” she told the publication.

Skolopad added that she was aware that “all great artists reinvent themselves when there is a need”, and she will try anything if she has enough support.
