Sjava’s annual Imbizo concert back with a fired up lineup

Sjava is returning for the second instalment of the Imbizo music concert this Saturday, 11 November.

The highly anticipated event will be held at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City, with a hot lineup that includes Big Zulu, Blaq Diamond, Lwa Ndlunkulu, and Shwi, just to mention a few.

Sjava said this event was about coming together and celebrating the richness of African music and culture.

“I am beyond excited to host the second instalment of the Imbizo Music Concert. This concert is not just about entertainment; it’s about embracing our roots, our stories, and our unity as Africans. Through music, we can bridge gaps and create lasting connections.”

One-man show

The Imbizo Music Concert is part of Sjava’s “Road to Mbombela” tour. He is on the road to his one-man show ‘Sjava Live in Mbombela’ set to take place next month, on 6 December.

Meanwhile, Sjava’s new album Isibuko has received five South African Music Awards (Samas) nominations.

He is nominated for Best Produced Album, Best Engineered Album, Best Album, Best Male, and Best Afropop Album.

Isibuko was released in January this year. Speaking about the album, in a Press statement, Sjava said it reflects his journey over the last few years.

He added: “It speaks to my experiences and growth as a person and musician. Musically, it is a continuation of the process that began with the Umsebenzi EP/Deluxe, and I hope my supporters enjoy the body of work.”
