Media personality Sithelo Shozi has been served with a cease and desist by lawyers representing online furniture store Nisa Willockx Interiors after remarks she made on social media about the store. She has been given 48 hours to apologise.

Shozi was disgruntled with the service she received from the store, after she ordered a marble coffee table through Nisa Willockx Interiors’ Instagram page.

Shozi was one of the judges on The Masked Singer South Africa, known as the “No. 1 Lady Detective”. She is a DJ from Durban and a mother of two children to Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane.

According to Gossip blog, Buzzy B, Shozi was informed that the table would take six to eight weeks to deliver. According to a lawyer’s letter posted on the gossip blog’s Instagram account, she then made a payment of R17,800, which was confirmed by Nisa Willockx Interiors’, Sansina Moseki Willcokx.

On its website, the luxury furniture store says its aim is “to bring you harmony and balance in your everyday life. We use natural elements, calming colours and texture to achieve a timeless and modern feel to your home”.

“Our client informed us that she communicated with you regarding the developments in your order and that it was almost ready in course of the last week of September. At no point in the communication did you express that you were somewhat unhappy with her service,” the lawyer’s letter reads.

Shozi began expressing her disappointment with the store’s services on social media.

“On or about the 1 October you veraciously started demanding your order and that failing to deliver, you want a refund when you contacted our client.”

After the store buckled to the pressure of refunding Shozi they asked for her banking details.

“Instead, you resorted to defamatory and maliciously tarnish her business name on Instagram by putting up a post that alleged her business was a fraud and scam,” the letter states.

The error-ridden letter concludes by giving Shozi a deadline to apologise.

“Issue an explanatory statement and an apology to her and the business within 48 hours from recipient of this letter and accept a refund.”

Shozi has yet to comment on the cease and desist order, only posting a Bible verse on her Instagram stories shortly after the lawyers’ letter surfaced.

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

The Citizen has reached out to Shozi for comment and will update the article with the information as soon as we receive it.
