Refiloe “Cassper Nyovest” Phoolo held a 30 minute-long question-and-answer session with his Twitter followers on Tuesday night and, we must say, he was quite honest in his answers. At least that’s how it came across.
It’s no doubt that Cassper is one of the most successful South African hip hop artists with a huge fan base that helped fill up the Coca-Cola Dome last year; also, his album Refiloe was certified gold on the same night.
Cassper says that both his albums have been certified multi-platinum, though the Mama I Made It hit maker says he did not want to announce the news on social media before he got his certificates.
On his Fill Up Orlando Stadium concert in October, Cassper says he has managed to get only one sponsor, though he is still looking for more as he wants to do “some next level sh*t” that is expensive.
He recently revealed in an interview on Slikouronlife that he was struggling to get sponsors for the concert.
He said even though he managed to fill The Dome last year, he lost money.
“I did this with my own money last year and was helped by my businessmen friends and some of the brands like BP and AG Mobile pitched in and helped me, but the majority … I lost like R3.2 million of my own money, doing this, to show brands that this is what we could do”, adding that he wanted R25 million for this to happen.
Cassper says he will reward 25 golden circle ticket-holders with dinner before the show.
Another fan then asked him for the real reason why he broke up with Boity, because, honestly, the two were good together and their breakup was unexpected as they had just returned from a baecation and all seemed to be going well.
Despite reports claiming he had cheated on his model ex-girlfriend, Cassper still maintains their relationship did not work out because he wasn’t giving her the time and love she deserved, “as I was so committed to my career. She deserved better than me”, he said.
He said should he get a new girlfriend, he would make sure to get someone “normal” as “it don’t get better than Boity”, also dismissing reports that he was in a relationship with Teko Modise’s ex-girlfriend Lizelle.
“Lizelle is my friend, she lives down the road so we party together a lot. She’s also mad cool to hang with,” he said.
