Serious entertainment with Hulisani Ravele

She left the entertainment industry a few years ago to pursue a career in the corporate world.

But now Hulisani Ravele is back on television as the host of ANN7’s I Am South African.

“When I was asked to be part of the show I didn’t even stop to think about it. I knew I wanted to be involved,” she says.

Ravele felt as if the role in the new television show was made for her. “This is not another entertainment show where people just dance – it’s a show with purpose.”

I Am South African was recently launched together with the South African Of The Year Awards, which will take place in September. The show and awards celebrate South Africans who are doing great things in fields such as business and entertainment “in the spirit of humanity”.

On the talk show, which will feature guest panelists, Hulisani will tackle social issues that affect all South Africans.

“It’s time we start asking some of the difficult questions about the society we live in. I’m a very proud South African activist and I hope people find the show inspiring and informative.”
