In this week’s royal news update, a lot of focus is on Queen Elizabeth following her hospitalisation last week.
It has been revealed that the Netflix Original series The Crown may feature the infamous Diana interview; Prince William is preparing to be king according to a royal expert; and royal fans are pleading with Harry to go to London to see his grandmother amid her recent health scare.
According to The Sun, Netflix has spent millions of dollars on an episode of season five of The Crown, which will reportedly feature an entire episode of Princess Diana’s infamous interview with journalist Martin Bashir on BBC’s Panorama.
“To the writers, the stormy marriage between Charles and Di led up to her outpouring on Panorama, and the aftermath of that decision defined her final months. They are making a huge investment in that. The Crown has a track record of delving into areas of the royal family’s history they’d rather be left alone,” said an insider to The Sun.
According to royal expert Natalie Oliveri, the Duke of Cambridge is preparing to be king by assisting the queen with major duties following her one night hospital stay last week.
Talking to Daily Star, Natalie pointed out Prince William and Kate Middleton rushed back to London on Thursday, the same day that the queen was discharged from hospital, to be by her side.
“Now they had arrived on Thursday, the same day Queen Elizabeth was discharged from hospital so many people are seeing that as rushing back to be by the queen’s side, said Oliveri.
She further said: “So far, we aren’t being told there is any cause for alarm but Prince William is one of the royals really stepping up, taking charge of these royal duties. So really William is preparing to be king one day, of course, after his father.”

The world leaders gathering in Glasglow, Scotland, for a major climate change conference next week will not get the chance to meet the queen as planned because she has been ordered to stay home and rest by her doctors.
Since her overnight stay at the hospital last week, the 95-year-old monarch has been asked to participate in light duties only.
A statement was released from the palace. It reads: “Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the Evening Reception of COP26 on Monday.”
Following the queen’s hospitalisation, royal fans all over the world have urged Prince Harry to head back to London to see the queen, stating that “he will regret it” if he does not.
After a statement was released from the Palace saying that the queen will not be attending the COP26 conference set to take place next week, royal fans have been fearing for her health.
Prince Harry and the Queen have always had a pleasant and sweet relationship, but they have not seen much of each other since Harry and Meghan departed from their royal duties and titles last year.
Although sources close to the royal family have assured everyone that the queen is doing alright, and that the hospitalisation as well as the much needed rest is no cause for major concern, royal fans have said Harry needs to consider heading to the UK to go see and spend some time with his grandmother.
“Such a beautiful family. I truly hope Harry flies back to see his grandmother, the queen, and the family. She is slowing down. He will regret it. I loved the commercial they did together! God bless you all,” said a royal fan on Twitter.
