In this weeks royal news update it has been revealed that princess Diana would spend Christmas alone as Harry and William would be taken to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth is frightened and worried about Prince William flying helicopters with his family, especially when the weather is bad.
The queen’s Christmas plans in Sandringham have been cancelled due to rising Covid-19 cases in the UK.
Princess Diana was left alone for Christmas
Before his interview with French Magazine, Gala, royal chef Darren McGrady revealed that during the festive season, Princess Diana would often spend Christmas all on her own because her sons Prince Harry and Prince William would be scooped away to go spend Christmas with their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
“It was always pretty sad when you worked with the Princess on Christmas Eve.
“William and Harry were going to Sandringham and Princess Diana was there, alone. She insisted that the staff spend time with their families for Christmas and that we leave the food in the refrigerator,” said McGrady.
During his interview, Darren also revealed that Sandringham would be full during the festive season because of all the families that would come over to celebrate Christmas with the queen.
“Sandringham was so tight, so compact. There were so many people there, all the families.
“You just couldn’t get away. You came out of the dining room and you couldn’t go into the sitting room because there were three or four people in there playing charades or Scrabble or something,” said McGrady.

Queen stays awake at night over William flying helicopters
The Sun recently reported that the Queen apparently has some fears and worries about prince William and his family flying in helicopters.
The publication alleged that the Queen had said to courtiers that she would like for William to stop flying himself to and from places, especially during bad weather conditions.
“She would like William to stop flying himself, particularly in bad weather, as helicopters are not the safest form of transport. It keeps the Queen awake at night and she is understandably very worried.
“She knows William is a capable pilot but does not think it is worth the risk for all five of them to carry on flying together, and can’t imagine what would happen. It would spark a constitutional crisis,” said a source close to the queen.
Queen Elizabeth will no longer be travelling to Sandringham for Christmas
As the new Omicron coronavirus variant surges in the UK, Her Royal Highness has made the decision to celebrate Christmas at Windsor Castle, revealed a Buckingham Palace source.
Usually, the queen travels to her country estate of Sandringham to host an annual Christmas retreat with her immediate family, but over the recent weeks the palace has been taking added precautions due to the virus, including cancelling the pre-Christmas lunch which the queen hosts for her distant family members.
