Former Metro FM sports presenter Robert Marawa may reportedly make a move back to the station. Though reports claim he was asked to rejoin the SABC by acting COO Bessie Tugwana, Marawa denied having met her to discuss the issue.
Senior executives told the Sunday World Metro FM station manager Sibongile Mtyali as she had not been consulted on the move.
It was not clear if Marawa had accepted the offer yet, but the publication reports staff at SABC Sports have already started preparing for his return on the Sports @6 slot, currently presented by Udo Carelse.
Marawa told the publication he was aware of the possible move back.
“I know that there are talks internally at the SABC about reversing some of the decisions that were taken, especially what happened in the sports department.
“I have not seen Bessie Tugwana in three months and therefore it’s not true that I met with her to discuss that issue,” he was quoted as saying.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told the publication the matter between the SABC and Marawa “is finalised and we cannot comment any further on this”.
