‘Dearest MaRiky’: Mother honours Riky Rick with book of letters
Late music star Riky Rick's mother, Louisa Zondo, embarked on a journey of healing by penning a book in his honour.

After tragically losing her son Riky Rick to suicide last year, Louisa Zondo found herself on a path to find closure and heal her heart. To express her pain, as well as pay tribute to his memory, she wrote a book which consists of a series of letters penned to her late son.
Louisa has now unveiled the title of the book, which features a photo of her and Riky Rick on the cover, as Dearest MaRiky — A Mother’s Journey through Grief, Trauma and Healing.
Tragic suicide of SA music star
On 23 February 2022, it was reported that Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, also known as Riky Rick, passed away at his estate home located in the northern region of Johannesburg.
According to multiple sources, he took his own life by hanging after suffering from severe depression.

Mother pens book in honour of Riky Rick
On Instagram, Zondo shared the cover of her upcoming book. In the post caption, she expresses her gratitude at being able to tell her life story through her “book of letters”.
I’m filled with gratitude. Finally, I have started to tell the story of my life.

Ricky Rick’s suicide note
ZAlebs reported on Riky Rick‘s suicide note to his wife, Bianca Naidoo, and their two children.
The first part of his note consists of his final message to his wife. This was followed by messages to his son, Maik, and daughter, Jordan.
“Dear Bianca,
“This pain is too much. I don’t want you to blame yourself for my life being unbearable. You gave me more love than I deserved. Live your life. Do not hide the light you have every day.
“I am sorry for being the one who gives up but the pain I feel is too much to deal with. The voices in my head have never gone away. I wish I was stronger, but I am not. Please forgive me. I love you,” he wrote.
He then wrote to Maik and Jordan:
Follow your passion my son. The world is better than you can ever imagine. I love You.
“Jordan, the best thing that ever happened in my life. You taught me so much about life. Thank you for being so good to me. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me. I love you.”

Louis Zondo encourages people to never stop telling stories
In another Instagram post, Zondo urged her followers to never hesitate to share their own stories.
She expressed that writing the book in honour of her late son had brought her clarity and healing on multiple levels.
