Generations’ publicist Gaaratwe Mokhethi, confirmed that Seiphemo was discharged on Saturday morning. Mokhethi said “he is back at home and he is recovering well.”
SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago said that he has not visited Seiphemo while in hospital, but is pleased about the news. “We are wishing him well and that he fully recovers so that he can come back to do what he does well.”
The tragic accident reportedly happened on Sunday, 14 February, on the N14 near Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg. ER24 reports that the accident left two people dead and four others with severe injuries.
“On assessment, paramedics found that two men, one from each vehicle, had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene.
“Four other patients were found on scene, two of them critically injured.
“Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions.
“Once treated, both critically injured patients were airlifted by a private medical helicopter to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.
“The two remaining patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
“Local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” ER24 said in a statement.
According to SABC News, the actor, who plays Tau Mogale on Generations, will undergo surgery this afternoon at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.
In a statement, Generations: The Legacy PR manager Gaaratwe Mokhethi said: “Rapulana Seiphemo, the actor who plays Tau Mogale, has unfortunately been in an accident. He is however recovering in a Johannesburg based hospital.”
“We would like to request that we all afford the family space to deal with the trauma, Rapulana is a fighter, he’ll definitely pull through.”
