The amazing thing about the world of hip-hop is that collaboration and working alongside other artists is a big part of the genre.

Working with others brings along a sense of comradery – and that’s certainly the case for T.I. who has revealed he is extremely inspired by the music coming out of Africa today.
The star was in Kenya recently and during a press conference, he opened up about working with Nasty C as well as his relationship with several other South African rappers. The rapper confirmed that he has recorded a song with Nasty C which he hopes to release this year and revealed that he is on very good terms with AKA and Kwesta.

“I align my talents with other talented people … I have relationships with Davido, AKA. I have connections and relationships with people in the music industry from Africa,” T.I. says.
T.I. also got Kwesta to open for him on his 2017 American tour and reveals that they still have a great friendship today. Kwesta, at the time, explained that “They were like, ‘we really like your vibe and we think that we can really vibe with you. We want you to come out and open for T.I.’ It came out of the blue. I haven’t met T.I. or anyone from his team before, so to get this call was totally unexpected. I am a big fan of T.I. so I naturally said yes.”
It’s great to see American rappers taking African music so seriously and that they’re looking to Africa for inspiration on how to take the genre to new heights.
