The undisputed No 1 fan of her Springbok captain husband Siya Kolisi, Rachel, was in full celebratory mode when she boarded the Bok bus for the World Cup-winning team’s Cape Town leg of their trophy tour.
The Springboks’ four-day tour to let the people of Mzansi share in the Rugby World Cup “afterglow” of the Webb-Ellis Cup, kicked off in Pretoria on Thursday and is set to end in East London tomorrow.

Rachel and Siya Kolisi: French connection and wedding bells
The Kolisi family lives in Paris these days since Siya joined the ranks of French Top 14 club Racing 92. Apart from being the ever-supporting wife since the couple got married in 2016, the reason for Rachel’s Cape Town visit goes beyond that of mere supporter.
Recently, the former fitness instructor and Kolisi Foundation CEO, disclosed that she will be attending the Mother City wedding of her sports manager brother, Joel Smith, and Olympic swimmer Tatjana Schoenmaker.
Many Durban fans were left disappointed today when the Springbok captain did not accompany the team as he reportedly has a family wedding to attend.
The Citizen’s guess is that this “family wedding” is indeed that of Rachel’s brother…

What started of as a sunny day of celebrating the Boks’ World Cup glory, took a nasty turn when South Africa’s “First Lady of Rugby” was hit on the head by a rugby ball “missile” thrown onto the bus by a fan.

Did Siya miss the catch?
According to @teee_squared, it appears that Siya actually encouraged the woman to throw the ball, which hit Rachel when the captain missed the catch:
“There’s another angle of this video and it clearly shows Siya telling the person to throw the call. He just missed it and it hit Rachel, by accident. This wasn’t intentional.”

Siya Kolisi reaches one million Instagram followers
Siya Kolisi has reached the million mark when it comes to Instagram followers during the victory trophy tour. This makes Kolisi the most followed Springbok player on the photo-sharing app.
Kolisi is followed by winger Cheslin Kolbe who has 633k followers with scrum-half and fan favourite Faf de Klerk in third place with 511k followers.
