It has been over a month since Princess Charlene was cleared to be able to travel back home to her family after spending more than 6 months in South Africa battling an ear, nose and throat infection.
Soon after the princess returned home, her husband, Prince Albert made it known to a few publications that he as well as Charlene had decided that she should go to a wellness facility just outside of Monaco to focus on her healing after suffering from emotional and physical exhaustion.
Charlene’s father, Mike Wittstock, recently told YOU Magazine he is hopeful that his daughter will be on the mend soon.
He also mentioned how the princess used to swim lengthy distances on a daily basis, and how just from that he knows that she is strong enough to bounce back from the struggles she is currently facing, and come back a much better person.
“My daughter used to swim 20km a day. Based on the way she used to train, I know she’s tough and will get through this and come out much stronger,” said Wittstock.

When asked if he had the opportunity to see Charlene when she was in South Africa, he said no, but only because he was concerned about Covid-19 and did not want to put her at risk of contracting the virus from him or his wife, especially because she was ill and vulnerable at the time.
“[At] our ages—we have to be very careful. I also didn’t want to possibly infect her because she’d been through so many medical procedures and was vulnerable,” said Charlene’s father.
Princess Charlene took to social media earlier today to send her twins well wishes on their birthday.
In the caption of her post, she wished them a happy birthday and thanked God for blessing her with them.
“Happy birthday my babies. Thank you God for blessing me with such wonderful children. I’m truly blessed Love mom,” said Charlene in the caption of her post.
