The family of award-winning singer Zahara has confirmed her hospitalisation for a week, as reports surface that she is fighting for her life in the ICU.

According to Zimoja, Zahara was transferred to the ICU a few days after she was admitted to one of the private hospitals in Johannesburg. The publication claims that a source revealed that the Loliwe hitmaker is battling a liver complication.

In a statement on Monday, Zahara’s family said she has been admitted for a week following complaints about physical pain.

“The doctors are working diligently, and we await further updates from them… In the meantime, we are asking for privacy on this matter and your continued prayers for the speedy recovery of our beloved Zahara,” the family added.
