Prayers for Rapulana Seiphemo

"We would like to request that we all afford the family space to deal with the trauma".


Well wishes have been pouring in on social media for Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo who was involved in a car accident on Sunday evening on the N14 near Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg.

According to SABC news, the 48 year old actor who plays Tau Mogale on the soap was taken to Milpark Hospital in Melville and was in a critical condition.

In a short statement, Generations: The Legacy’s Public Relations manager, Gaaratwe Mokhethi confirmed the news.

“We would like to request that we all afford the family space to deal with the trauma. Rapulana is a fighter, he’ll definitely pull through.”

According to Emergency Medical Services, ER24 two vehicles which were both carrying three people collided on the N14 near the R55. Two people were killed and the four were rushed to private hospitals nearby.

Fellow Generations: The Legacy actress Connie Ferguson, who plays Seiphemo’s wife on the popular soap took to Twitter to wish him well.

“Speedy recovery Raps. You and your family are definitely in our prayers.”

Isidingo actress Khabononia Qhubeka tweeted:

“Eish! Prayers go out to #Raphulana Seiphemo, the three people critically injured and the two who have passed on! So sorry bandla! #OurRoads

The actor who is among the most prominent in our country, has played leading roles on soapies such as GenerationsMuvhango and Isidingo.

Seiphemo had left Generations a few years ago, but was asked to return to the soap when it was revamped in 2014 and renamed Generations: The Legacy.

He was the lead character in Ralph Ziman’s crime film: Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema. He has also been very active in theatre, directing a number of stage productions including Five Past Two at the Sibikwa Community Theatre and Athol Furgard’s Master Harold and the Boys at the Market Theatre.

In 2003 Seiphemo was partnered with comedian and actor Kenneth Nkosi and started a production company, Stepping Stone Pictures. According to tvsa.co.za Seiphemo an eighteen year old daughter and four siblings.
