‘Please tag SAPS Tanzania’ – Twitter advises police looking for Faith Nketsi’s husband

Social media is atwitter with chatter about Faith Nketsi’s husband, Nzuzo Njilo, after police issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for him in light of a recent arrest warrant with his name on it.

Shortly after the pair got married last April, rumours began spreading claiming that Njilo’s family wealth was not all that it was cracked up to be and that it was allegedly not obtained legitimately.

Faith Nketsi’s husband is the son of the former mayor of Msunduzi Municipality – Themba Njilo.

Nzuzo Njilo and Nketsi’s relationship became public knowledge after he gifted her a Land Rover to mark their anniversary. However, this car wasn’t bought, it was revealed that their Land Rover and Mercedes Benz are not owned by them but were rented from a car dealership in Sandton.

Fraudulent sale agreement

According to the statement by the South African Police Service (Saps), police in Port Shepstone are seeking the assistance of community members in locating suspected two fraudsters whose warrants of arrest were issued by the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 18 April 2023.

“Nzuzo Nkuthalo Njilo and Kwanda Ntshangase are on the police’s wanted list in connection with a case of fraud. The two are alleged to have masqueraded as salesmen who pretended to be selling a truck in May 2021,” explained police.

They further explained that an unsuspecting buyer went and physically viewed the truck at a dealership in Boksburg and later paid the two a substantial amount of money for it.

“The truck was never delivered and since then the duo could not be contacted and their whereabouts remain unknown.”

In their investigations, police also uncovered that certain information on the sale agreement was fraudulent and they subsequently opened a criminal case against Faith Nketsi’s husband and his co-conspirator who are believed to be in the vicinity of Pietermaritzburg.

A number of social media users joked that the police should tag “Saps Tanzania” to get them to help after they successfully assisted in the capture of wanted fugitive Thabo Bester.

The “Saps Tanzania” reference comes from a tweet reacting to Bester’s arrest where one user referred to Tanzanian police that way, much to the amusement of social media users who questioned the person who posted the tweet about whether or not they understood what Saps stood for.

Pleading poverty

Last August, City Press reported that Nzuzo Njilo pleaded “poverty” after debt collectors arrived at his door, in his Hyde Park home to collect furniture to repay nearly R1 million in debt owed by the young businessman.

The debt collectors arrived after Bazuka Attorneys was granted a high court order on 29 July, to attach Njilo’s movable properties and auction them off.

The money would be used to repay R978 104 he reportedly owes to Lund Industries. Lund Industries were allegedly defrauded by Njilo in March, after purchasing copper concentrate that he never delivered.
