South Africa’s most influential celebrities flocked to social media on Christmas eve and Christmas morning to wish friends, family and fans a Merry Christmas.
They also took the opportunity to give followers a glimpse into their glamorous festive celebrations sharing photos of themselves and their family celebrating this special time of the year in style.

South African businesswoman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, television personality and socialite, Shauwn Mkhize, better known as MaMkhize, flooded her followers’ timelines on Saturday morning with glitzy pictures of her posing in a white feather dress with a barely-there diamond bodice in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
MaMkhize took the opportunity to reflect back on 2021, saying that even though it has been a really difficult year, she has so much to be grateful for.
“Covid has taught us all to not take life for granted the limited time we have, to live in every moment, form new bonds with loved ones and give thanks to the Almighty for all the good he has done and is yet to do in our lives,” she wrote in the caption accompanying her photos.
She also said that this year she decided to live in her own world, with her own rules and to live with herself and not the world, and that it has brought her peace.
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo seems to have finally found his ‘Christmas Spirit’. Mhlongo took to social media earlier this week saying that he is not really feeling festive this festive season.
“This festive season is not festive at all. I am not feeling it and I understand why. I am sure a lot of people can relate to that. This year has been a kak year but I always see a silver lining between a dark cloud,” he wrote on Instagram.

The former Idols SA judge decided that The Grinch will not be stealing his Christmas and enlisted the services of Nono Events to bring some festive cheer to his home.
“To be honest I wasn’t feeling festive this season… something just felt heavy all over nje… I don’t know if it’s just me or everywhere…. we have been through the most this year and I think anxiety… heavy emotions… uncertainty…. has weighed over our zeal to be happy,” he said on Instagram.
Somizi added that he is feeling a lot more festive now that his home looks a little more festive.
Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow and her husband Tim Tebow snuggled up on their couch at home with their dogs Paris, Kobe and Chunk, all sporting matching black and white outfits.
Rachel and Siya Kolisi are holidaying in Botswana for Christmas. The couple kicked off their December holiday in Cape Town before heading to Mozambique for some island bliss.

South African singer, actress and dancer Kelly Khumalo shared a short clip of her Christmas festivities’ set-up on Saturday morning, wishing fans and followers a Merry Christmas.
