Rapper Kanye West meant it when he said he wanted to fight for his marriage to Kim Kardashian.
After asking her “to run back to him” during a recent live performance, he has decided to become her neighbour.
According to a report by TMZ, Kanye bought a $4.5 million (R70 million) home across the street from his estranged wife. It is believed that he did so in order to make it easier for them to co-parent their four children.
Daily Mail reports that the home is just over 3,650 square feet, with five bedrooms and a stable on the property.
“He reportedly paid $421,000 (R6.5 million) over asking,” added the publication.
After seeing pictures of the home, Kanye’s fans have expressed disappointment in how it looks, considering how much he paid for it.
Last month, Kanye West appeared on the Drink Champs podcast, which is well known amongst hip hop fans for getting exclusive interviews from the biggest artists in the genre, who drink shots of alcohol with the host during the programme.
“SNL (Saturday Night Live) making my wife say I divorced him on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off. I haven’t even seen the papers, we are not even divorced.
“Because that ain’t no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want us to be together. If you look at the media that’s not what they promoting, that’s not what they want.
“They want it to be a new wedding, a new episode, a new TV show,” said Kanye in reference to Kim’s recent appearance on the comedy show.
US Weekly reports that in October, Kim paid $23 million (R360 million) for Kanye’s share of the Hidden Hills home they started building in 2014.
She initially filed for divorce in February, and at the time, the couple agreed to seek joint legal custody of their four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3 and Psalm, 2.
Kim has since been dating comedian Pete Davidson.
