The CEO of Blackhead Consulting, Edwin Sodi, had a fancy birthday party over the weekend at his R85 million luxury mansion in Bryanston.
His company, Blackhead Consulting, is at the centre of controversial tenders, including the R255 million asbestos contract in the Free State and the R295 million contract for the Rooiwal Wastewater treatment works.
As the tycoon celebrated his birthday over the weekend, many people on social media did not believe that he is 50 years old, with most saying he does not look his age.
His wife, Nokukhanya Zulu, posted his birthday photos on her Instagram page.
She captioned one of them ” Happy birthday baba. May you live to see all your dreams come to fruition. I love you so much”.

The business tycoon enjoyed a carefree lavish birthday, only to find himself at the centre of a Special Investigating Unit (SIU) investigation a day later.
President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised the SIU to look into a contract worth R295 million that Sodi’s company got for the Rooiwal Wastewater treatment works project in Tshwane.
In June this year, News24 reported that Edwin Sodi was to be blacklisted from doing business with the Tshwane government.
It is alleged that Blackhead Consulting was irregularly awarded the tender for a project to upgrade the Tshwane wastewater treatment plant, along with two other companies, CMS and NJR.
It is also alleged that although they were awarded the project in October 2019 and were paid almost R292 million by the city, only 60% of the first part of the upgrade has been completed.
