Pharrell Williams gets Happy for 24 hours with new video

Pharrell Williams has created the world’s first 24-hour music video.

The singer has made history with the release of his uplifting new single ‘Happy’ and its interactive music video, which would take a day to watch in full.

The soul-infused song, which features on the soundtrack of animated flick ‘Despicable Me 2’, was premiered on a dedicated site called 24hoursofhappy.com.

The video boasts a full 24 hours of footage of dozens of individuals dancing down the street and in various indoor locations, interspersed with sequences starring Pharrell himself, as the track plays in a loop in the background.

The ‘Blurred Lines’ hitmaker also called upon his famous friends Jamie Foxx, Kelly Osbourne, Jimmy Kimmel, Magic Johnson, Steve Carrell, and many more to make cameo appearances.

As the video starts to play, viewers can click on an interactive clock face to select any moment throughout the day, from ”sunrise” to ”sunset”.

They also have the ability to comment on certain sections and share moments online via Twitter and Facebook.

The video was produced by Iconoclast and directed by We Are From L.A., who were responsible for the first ever interactive music video iPhone App with French band Cassius’ single ‘I Love You So’ in 2010.
