Pearl Thusi slams ‘Bruce Lee’ hairdo haters

“Queen of Shade” Pearl Thusi’s hairdo was the talk of the Metro Awards on Saturday night. Most comments were expressing disappointment at her, saying they like her natural hair. Some said they could not recognise her. However, Pearl Thusi went on Instagram to explain that her hairdo was 70s-inspired. She posted another picture of the hairdo with the caption: “When you can achieve a look with your natural but cut and colour will ruin your natural hair so you wi(n)g it!!”.

Her fans jumped to her defence, saying the hairstyle suited her, with one mellsibahle saying: “I actually didn’t see anything wrong with the wig… so surprised that the (sic) is so much fuss…its part of a concept. No big deal.”

Pearl Thusi did not entertain the comments until Monday morning when Twitter continued with the comments on her hairstyle. Pearl went to her Instagram to single out those who were most vocal about the hairstyle and threw major shade on them. She compiled a collage of their faces and made comments on their hairstyles. However, the post has since been deleted.

She posted on Instagram:

Some Twitter followers however lashed out at her for singling out the eight ladies and throwing shade at them. Some said for someone who was always throwing shade at Bonang Matheba, what she did was “petty”. Share your thoughts, was Pearl Thusi right in what she posted on her Instagram?
