Pearl Thusi dismisses report claiming she’s a nyatsi

Actor and presenter Pearl Thusi went on a Twitter rant on Sunday, slamming reports claiming she is dating a basketball player by the name “SB”.

In a series of tweets, Pearl, who recently broke up with Robert Marawa, denied dating “SB”, slating the journalist who wrote the story for getting the apparent boyfriend wrong.

“That’s not my friend’s name, we’re not dating and you never called me. Stop being a trash writer/journalist,” she wrote.

She then tweeted her friend, alerting him to reports the two were apparently now dating.

“@KPstar9 apparently you and I are dating and they got your name wrong and called you SB, I’m so dead,” she tweeted her friend, whose name on Twitter is KP Ndlovu.

Even Boity Thulo weighed in on the reports, and wrote: “I can’t with tabloids!”

Sunday Sun had reported that Pearl had found love in the arms of a basketball player.

“Sources close to the couple” said they had seen the two on numerous occasions.

The sources claimed to have seen them together at the NBA Africa games in Northgate and, prior to that, having lunch at Melrose Arch.

Another one alleged Pearl and “SB” were keeping their love affair private as the man was in a committed relationship with another woman.

“That’s part of the reason why they stay undercover because SB has a long-term partner,” they were quoted as saying.

Pearl Thusi and Robert Marawa broke up recently, after a long-term relationship that they never even verbally confirmed.

Marawa confirmed their break-up earlier this month, saying he had felt the need to own the narrative, to avoid false reports about their love affair.
