Ntsiki Mazwai blasts Lira for marrying white man
Writer and musician Ntsiki Mazwai has done it again. Miss Mazwai voiced her opinion on Twitter about awards, who wins or who does not win them, and how the colour of one’s skin affords an individual certain privileges.

On Saturday night, Mazwai went full force for musician Lerato Molapo, better known as Lira. Mazwai complained about how “awards are political and about who you are with” – in this case referring to Lira as she won the Best Female against her sister Thandiswa Mazwai and Busi Mhlongo.
She continued to say “when you are with white people, black people will elevate you”. Mazwai went on to say she is going to marry a white guy with power in the music industry and only then will she win awards and become a big star.
Awards r definitely political and about who ur with- like when Lira won best female against Thandiswa and Busi Mhlongo. What a big fat lie!

Why when u tell uncomfortable truths they tell u ur being bitter? Is that an effort to silence the truth?

People will attack u when they don't like what you're saying. SO WHAT?

The above tweets were not taken lightly by her followers, as they hit back with comments such as “wabona, then you get roasted and wanna cry” and “the fact that you get touched shows that you care”. Mazwai was kind enough to reply to her attackers in a civil manner. Lira is married to producer Robin Kohl and has not responded to Mazwai’s comments. After all the hooha, Mazwai carried on with her tweeting as usual.
This isn’t the first time Mazwai has shocked Twitter. In 2014, she wrote an open letter to minister of sports and recreation Fikile Mbablula about Beyonce possibly coming to SA to perform after it was alleged she would be paid millions of rands. The altercation had many entertained on twitter.
In September 2015, she got into a squabble with Mbalula again, where she ranted as to why a woman was not elected into a prominent position at the ANCYL congress.
Mazwai said women in the ANC have been “reduced to panties” because the organisation did not elect women in leadership positions. This Twitter war was one-sided, as Mbalula never bothered to reply. To Mbalula’s rescue, newly-elected leader of the ANCYL Collen Maine responded, calling Mazwai a “greasy panty”. The ANC Women’s League came out guns blazing and asked Mazwai to retract her statement.
Looking through Mazwai’s Twitter timeline, there is nothing out of the ordinary, as she merely voices her opinions and waits for social media to respond. Hate her or love her miss, Mazwai will always keep the Twitter streets talking.
