Bangai has been in a relationship with his wife, Mamoroka Manana, for about five years, but the couple have finally decided to call it quits. He insisted that the split is amicable, though.
“We remain devoted parents to our two beautiful boys, Lawandle and Kumkani,” the 32-old musician told the Daily Sun. “We still respect and care about each other.”
While in Swaziland in 2010, Bangani found himself the subject of some very unwanted publicity when the Swazi Observer published photos of him gripping the thigh of a woman called Nonceba Khanyile while leaning over in a way that suggests they’re kissing. After appearing in the newspapers, the photos were allegedly also sent to wife Manana. Khanyile has, however, always insisted that ‘it’s not what it looks like’.
“In life you realise that it’s fair to let go while you still care about each other,” the singer said of the split.
“We don’t hate each other. We realised in our marriage that we were raised in different ways.”
Desperate to change the subject, he continued: “Now let’s talk about my music. I’m just confirming because I’m tired of speculations. I’ve returned to TS Records. I was never down and out – I was working!
“It’s just that the media were never there to capture those moments. I had fun making this album and learnt many things from my first live album.”
Ntando Bangani’s new album, ‘Monday to Sunday’, is set to hit store soon.
