Nomzamo Mbatha rubs shoulders with Prince William as King Charles rebrands to reflect his royal status

Nomzamo Mbatha was a guest at the Earthshot Prize in Singapore, the Earthshot Prize was found by Prince William.

South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha looked regal in a blue frock as she rubbed shoulders with Prince William at the Earthshot Prize in Singapore.

“What the Earthshot Prize does is to lift the lid of invisibility to the incredible and brilliant minds around the world who are coming up with durable, scalable and effective solutions/methods to combat the climate crisis. Innovation on astronomical levels,” wrote Mbatha on her Instagram.

Earthshot Prize was launched by Prince William in 2020 to search for and scale the most innovative solutions to the world’s greatest environmental challenges. This year’s winners are Acción Andina, GRST, WildAid Marine Program, S4S Technologies, and Boomitra. The five will each receive a £1 million (about R23 million) prize to support efforts to scale their innovative climate and environmental solutions.

“The last year has been one of great change and even greater challenge. A year in which the effects of the climate crisis have become too visible to be ignored. And a year that has left so many feeling defeated, their hope, dwindling,” said the The Prince of Wales in a statement.

“However, as we have seen tonight, hope does remain. The light of optimism is burning bright in our Earthshot Finalists. All our finalists remind us that, no matter where you are on our planet, the spirit of ingenuity, and the ability to inspire change, surrounds us all.”

The Prince has been in Singapore for the last few days to enjoy the country’s scenic beauty together with the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

“What a fantastic place that takes you right to the heart of the rainforest, being cared for and protected by a brilliant team doing so much to restore our planet. Not only a beautiful spot, it also plays an important role in forest canopy research, giving researchers access they otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach.”

King Charles’ rebrand

GBN reports that Britain’s monarch has rebranded to reflect his status as King. As the Prince of Wales (a title belonging to elder son, Prince William) Charles founded many charitable organisations, including The Prince’s Trust.

Now that Charles is King, it has been confirmed that The Prince’s Trust will be renamed The King’s Trust.

Similarly, The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund will become the King Charles III Charitable Fund, and The Prince’s Foundation will be renamed The King’s Foundation. The King’s Trust was founded by Charles in 1976 when he was the Prince of Wales.

The charity helps young disadvantaged people through employment, education and enterprise to build a better future. The King Charles III Charitable Fund was founded in 1979.

King Charles recently delivered his first King’s Speech to the UK parliament for the first time as monarch.
