WATCH: New TikTok trend has turned Yoga into porn

Yoga is described as a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines that originated in ancient India.

However, this calming and relaxing exercise has been turned into ‘porn’ and yogis are not taking it well.

TikToker Nimay Ndolo took to the short video sharing platform sharing her outrage with her two million followers, asking how these types of videos are allowed but yet she gets violations every week for her content.

Ndolo is clearly outraged in the video clip, that has since gone viral. In the video clip, she tells her followers to search ‘yoga’ on TikTok exclaiming how the videos are showing p**sy, PP and botox a*ss.

“This is not yoga class,” the TikToker who is clearly traumatised by what she has seen, says.

We did our own TikTok search to see what videos showed up in our feed, and while they weren’t too graphic, the main objective of the women performing yoga in their bikinis or underwear was to show off their vaginas and bums.

Some yoga videos have racked up more than 24 million views.

Yoga teacher responds

Yoga teacher Harpinder Mann took to her TikTok account to share the video clip, saying that she did search ‘Yoga’ after watching Ndolo’s video and that she was horrified, but also not surprised.

“This is what happens when yoga becomes hypersexualised. It becomes commodified and whitewashed. And it’s just completely taken away from its original true goals and intents – yoga as a spiritual practice, as a spiritual pathway for us to realise the truth of who we actually are. To find that inner peace, that inners sense of like connectedness to all beings.”
