Considering the fact that producer, television host, and musician Nandi Madida and her musician husband Zakhele Madida (aka Zakes Bantwini) chose to name their first child Shaka – after the legendary Zulu monarch – it should come as no surprise that their second child has been named after Egyptian royalty.
The adorable baby girl’s name and face were revealed in an special inaugural post on her mother’s new app and website as a symbol for the new beginnings that spring brings.
Meet Queen Nefertiti Madida
The six-month-old was born earlier this year to the very private couple, who often keep the intimate details of their relationship and family life very separate from their healthy public profile.

“Celebrity couple Nandi Madida and Zakes Bantwini have birthed their second child together. The couple, who welcomed their first son Shaka in 2016 appeared on the February cover of Glamour magazine where Zakes Bantwini can be seen cradling Nandi’s baby bump” reads part of the welcome post on Nandi’s website titled “The Queen is here! Queen Nefertiti Madida is six months old”.
Neferneferuaten Nefertiti was an Egyptian queen who is believed to have been born in 1370 BC in Thebes. She went on to become the Royal Wife of Akhenaten, an Egyptian Pharaoh. The pair is credited with spearheading a religious revolution, in which they worshipped one god only, Aten (or the sun disc).
It is also interesting to note that King Shaka Zulu’s mother was named Queen Nandi.
