MTV Base presenter and winner of their 2017 presenter search Tshego Koke has denied rape accusations anonymously levelled against him on social media on Monday evening.
The accusation was made via direct message to an account that recently changed its name and handle to Justice for Uyinene/ @helpsurvivers.
This after someone made the suggestion to name and shame perpetrators as a means to an end in the ongoing attempt at finding tangible solutions to rape, gender-based violence, and femicide.

@helpsurvivers then began a thread with all the account’s direct messages aimed at outing alleged perpetrators – one of whom was Koke.
After hours of silence, Koke eventually responded: “This isn’t true. It isn’t true.”
He followed that tweet up with a statement claiming to be “shocked and disheartened” by the allegations.
“I am a man committed to creating a safe world for all of humanity. I would like to encourage the accuser to please file a case and I will hand myself over to the police to clear my name as I treat this as a very serious matter and I would not like any woman/man to feel I am invincible if I did them wrong,” wrote Koke.
MTV Base and its parent company Viacom have yet to issue a statement on the matter despite being tagged under the tweet containing the allegations about Koke.
@MTVBaseAfrica one of your presenters (Tshego Koke) is being accused of according to a women he allegedly raped who DM'd @AmINext_ anonymously.
All I want to know so what are you going to do given the situation right now in this country…
