Mona Monyane loses her daughter’s ashes in house fire

Mona Monyane took to Instagram this week to reveal that her family home was damaged in a fire which occurred on Sunday.

“We watched our home burn down and all we could think was thank God we all made it out alive. The devil may test you but God is greater than any darkness,” Mona captioned a video of their home engulfed in flames.

She also posted a picture of the destruction left behind after the fire, including the roof which had completely collapsed.

As if her home going up in flames wasn’t enough bad news, Mona revealed that her daughter Amani-Amaza’s ashes were also lost in the fire.

“I am in awe at the amount of loss I have experienced in my 29 years of life on this planet. Losing Amani’s ashes in this fire from hell has got to be the greatest lesson of letting go I could ever have had to experience,” she wrote.

The actress added that she was glad her family made it out of the fire alive.

“What a humbling life this is… one thing I know more than anything though is that God and my angels are protecting me and my family at all times and for that, I am forever grateful. Goodbye, Amani-Amaza.”

Mona and her husband Khulu Skenjana welcomed their daughter Amani-Amaza Wamazulu Skenjana in November 2017.

She died a week after she was born.

Mona opened up about their loss on the YouTube show CWNH Hosted By Wendy, in 2018/

“When within seven days my baby passes in my arms. I am sitting there going, ‘Okay, what is going on?’ So we are talking about spirituality and I am thinking, I am like, ‘God, where are you? I don’t know’. It was too sudden.”
