Mo Flava speaks about his trauma

After poking fun at hip-hop musician HHP subsequent to him making a confession that he suffered depression and tried to commit suicide three times last year, Metro FM DJ Mo Flava admits to going through his fair portion of trauma after being robbed this year when thugs held up a car carrying close to half-a-million rand; money he made from his yearly New Year’s Day picnic event.

“I must say‚ first and foremost‚ it was an oversight on my part in terms of having proper security measures in place. It was a gig that I hosted at a venue that takes about 3000 people. So there were 3000 people in there. I had made a little investment into the gig with the production‚ the line-up and everything,” he said, while opening up about the traumatic incident and how badly it affected him to Gareth Cliff on Cliffcentral

“As the money was being moved from the venue‚ it turns out that somebody got intel and put out a hit‚” he explained, indicating that because of this, he suffered depression and locked himself up for two days. “It was the most defeating thing‚” he recalled.
