Mo Flava to leave Club 808

The music programme first aired in 2010 with Mo and co-host Dineo Ranaka. The duo were both with YFM at the time and they were a team to be reckoned with. Here is one of their first interviews with DJ Black Coffee and singer Bucie.

Mo announced on his radio show that he was leaving Club 808 and later posted on his facebook page that February would be his last month on the show.

“As I mentioned on my radio today,Feb is my last month on @Club808 on @etv.its been an amazing journey, thanks to all who have supported me!And an even bigger thanks to you for watching and supporting the show,it’s been real!Time to try new things and explore other opportunities.”

Club 808 and Mo Flava have become a regular feature with the South African public. People took to social media to express their feelings. A few asked what he’d be doing next and he replied by saying “they’d be other cool stuff” he’s going to be doing on TV. Another burning question was whether there would be another presenter to replace him.

This is what he had to say about his departure in a statement on e.tv’s website:

“It has been a great four years with Club808 and I have learnt many things from the experience. e.tv and Red Pepper Productions are brilliant teams to work with and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity they have given me. I hope to work with e.tv again in the future, they really support local content and talent. Thank you to all the viewers for the support over the years and a huge thanks must be given to the music industry for working with us to bring viewers the latest and greatest music and entertainment every Friday night on e.tv.”
