Miss Peru stripped of title following drunken video

The beauty queen can clearly be seen drunk and being sick on the footage filmed by another contestant.

Miss Peru has been stripped of her title and the chance to perform at Miss Universe after a video emerged that depicted her significantly worse for wear after a night of partying.

In the video, Anyella Grados can be seen drunk and throwing up and while the legal drinking age in Peru is 18, her behaviour is against the rules of the competition.

“I think that the national queen has to be, above all, humble and committed,” Jessica Newton, director of the Miss Peru pageant, was quoted as saying. “[Grados] is a figure that has to maintain an image.”

The video was filmed by Miss Teen Peru 2018 Camila Canicoba, who said she posted it to social media accidentally.

Grados, crowned Miss Peru in October 2018, has refused to step down and has decided to take legal action stating that the video was an invasion of her privacy.

“I will take the legal actions against the person who … has filmed without my consent and then spread the images that impinged against my honour and my reputation,’ Grados stated in a statement.
