Minnie’s focussing on sport

Minnie Dlamini hasn't been in her radio co-host seat for months, apparently because she's just too busy.

Dlamini is supposed to co-present Metro FM’s weekend Top 40 show, ‘The Experience’, alongside Adil More, but her absence has been glaringly obvious for quite a few months now.

Speaking to the Sowetan, the radio station’s public relations and communications manager, Happy Ngidi, explained that the actress and TV presenter has an incredibly tight schedule.

“Her absence has to do with her hectic schedule given her other work commitments on television and elsewhere,” she said.

“This unfortunately did not work well for the show, but she is still part of the station’s family given the contract it has with her.

“Her focus is now on lifestyle reporting across all shows.”

Dlamini’s manager, Pumza Nohashe, echoed this sentiment but added that her new job as ‘Soccer Zone’ co-anchor is also just the start of a foray into sports presenting.

She said: “Minnie is no longer just focusing on the entertainment business – she has branched out into sports.

“There is an agreement between her radio and television bosses to give her more time to focus on building her sports presenting profile.”
