SA socialite Mohale Motaung pokes fun at marrying young

Never one to shy away from addressing the reasons that he has previously made headlines for, South African socialite and businessman poked fun at advice about not marrying young.

In a response to a trending question about unpopular opinions, Twitter user @CoconutShawarma asked “What’s an unpopular opinion which can get you in this position?”

Twitter influencer @MphoMoalamedi responded: “No one under the age of 23 should be getting married. You’re too young.”

Mohale responded to Mpho’s tweet with a meme of himself holding back tears. The meme is an image from the Showmax wedding special that documented his marriage to controversial celebrity choreographer and reality TV star, Somizi Mhlongo.

The pair got married in 2020 and their nuptials were documented in a three-part special titled Somizi and Mohale: The Union. They split less than two years later, dominating headlines for almost a year before resolving their dispute earlier this year.
