Mi Casa’s most recent single, ‘Jika’, has enjoyed an incredible amount of success since its release earlier this year, claiming the number one spot on many popular radio stations across South Africa.
It reached number one on music channels MTV Base and Trace TV, and has impressively climbed to top spot on digital BBC radio station 1Xtra.
On Monday, the band Tweeted: “2 weeks in a row and #JIKA remains number one on @1Xtra in the UK 🙂 #blessed”
Mi Casa released their second album, ‘Su Casa’, in August, and have since been touring throughout Africa.
Made up of vocalist and guitarist J’something, trumpeter Mo-T, and producer Dr. Duda, Mi Casa won three SAMA awards in 2012, scarcely a year after the group was formed early in 2011.
