The Springboks are ending the year on a high note. Not only have they been crowned world rugby champs for a fourth time, some team members are also celebrating special milestones and moments with their families.
Merely a week after announcing that there’s a little Eben Etzebeth on the way, Marise Pollard, the wife of Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard took to Instagram to share their baby news.

“The biggest blessing of them all joining us April ’24. Thank you, Jesus, for trusting us with this little life,” Marise wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
She shared four beautiful snaps of her and Handré to announce her pregnancy. In the pictures she is wearing a tight, off-white dress while the proud father-to-be looks handsome in khaki shorts and a rolled-up long-sleeved white shirt.
In the first photo both parents-to-be beam at the camera, with Handré cradling Marise’s baby bump. In frame 2, Handré gently kisses his wife on the forehead while she cradles her baby bump.
Both the brunette beauty and Eben Etzebeth’s wife, Anlia, did a great job of hiding their baby bumps while attending the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
The first inkling that there might be a bun in the oven was when Anlia posed for a photo with her husband, Springbok lock Eben, clearly showing off a baby bump in a green knitted dress, moments after South Africa won the Webb Ellis Trophy at the Stade the France in Saint-Denis.
Marise, who also travelled to France to support Handré, also managed to hide her pregnancy very well, leaving fans and followers pleasantly surprised when the couple announced that they are going to be parents soon.
“When did you have time?” Instagram user, thechills100 commented with a crying face emoji to which he received several hilarious responses.
“@thechills100 have you seen how accurately bro can shoot the ball. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d done it from like 51 metres away,” commented Abhith Ashok.
“He never misses anywhere,” said UJ Just Kidding.
“One thing Handré will do is score,” commented ikho kweba.
