Ma Agnes leaves Isidingo

Semoko who played the much loved character of Agnes Matabane or Ma Agnes as she is known, will appear on Isidingo for the last time tomorrow evening.

Semoko is said to have stopped filming for Isidingo in May.

Don Mlangeni who played Semoko’s husband Zebedee Matabane for fifteen years, also left the show earlier this year.

Endemol, (the company which manages Isidingo’s publicity) released a statement which said Mlangeni had a “lack of discipline and general disrespect for the show, the company, its many great actors and the SABC.” Semoko’s character is the last of the original Matabane family to leave the soap.

Reasons for Semoko’s departure have not been confirmed, but it seems that without her character’s family, her story line wasn’t really going anywhere.
