Long-awaited little one for talk radio host

Top South African talk show radio host Redi Tlhabi has given birth to a baby girl.

Tlhabi confirmed in April that she had fallen pregnant, six years after she and husband Brian decided to try for a child.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Redi announced the arrival of her first baby, saying: “Now hearing it from horse’s mouth not self appointment messengers. Our daughter Neo has arrived. Thanks for wishing us well on this journey.”

Formerly Redi Direko, the talk show host took her husband’s surname during a ceremony in Mulbarton in 2010, after he popped the question earlier that year on Valentine’s Day.

Dr Tlhabi – a general practitioner in Soweto – has daughters Lesego and Fentse from a previous marriage, and Redi also congratulated them on Twitter.

“Congratulations @_Dame_ and @Fentse92 on the birth of your little sister Neo. She is so cute 🙂 and has the best big sisters in the world,” their thrilled stepmother tweeted.

Clearly excited about having a new little sister, Lesego tweeted: “I’m still on cloud 9! Can’t believe we’re 3 girls now. Daddy gon make that Lobola money honey! Neo is the cutest baby ever :’)”
